Copa America 2016
Anyone else watching?

I've watched a few games now, and here are my thoughts.

a) The refereeing is awful. A Jamaican bloke got a straight red for winning the ball first, then kicking the other player. A Panamanian player went straight over the ball and didn't even get spoken to.
b) About time a referee gave a penalty for handball. Funny that it was against the USA and they went on to lose 2-0.
c) Wes Morgan didn't start for Jamaica. When he did get on, he continually gave away fouls for manhandling players at set pieces.
d) The US commentators are crap.
e) Dr. Joe Machnak, the US rules official is a complete waste of space.
f) The Septics managed to play the Chilean national anthem for the Uruguayan team.

Fair play to the Argies, they've taken it very seriously and will get repaid with the trophy.

Brazil were a fucking disgrace putting the Olympics first.

Only cunt nations rate the Olympics football trophy as something worth winning.

Apart from Enner's misses, which rescued the US against Venezuela, what struck me last night was how frequently the US immediately gave the ball back after chasing it around for a few minutes.

The Argies ball retention was very good.

Argentina are a cut above the rest of South America at the moment, Expect it will be Chile in the final who are decent side themselves, but them or the Colombians are no were near the Argies, expect another 4-0 or similar.

Messi's free-kick.

Leading goalscorer for Argentina now, overtaking Gabriel Batistuta.

Men against boys in many respects & it shouldnt be overlooked the 2or 3 shocking misses ( as we are well used to ) of a certain E. Valencia in their previous match that just about qualified them .

USA have over performed yet again and Klinsmann still gets criticised. Always getting slated on the phone-ins.
USA fans need a reality check, they are a poor team.

Re: Copa America 2016
I'll be disappointed if Klinsmann doesn't make two changes at the half. The game is done. Blood the youngsters.

Starting two forwards the wrong side of 33 who were slow in their prime. Smh

Did someone just say that the chip from Messi to an unmarked Lavezzi that ended up in the net was an accident?

US TV coverage of football is a joke period. They have no idea.

it's embarrassing. I listened to the Spanish commentary the other night; far more enlightening, and my Spanish is non existent.

The Fox sports presenters need to learn some humility too, abysmal coverage. The need to learn a thing or two from NBC

I fear for the US here. Hope their oafish, arrogant fans learn a bit of humility here.

Wondolowski starting up top for US. Might as well wave the white flag. 3-0 Argentina by half and will coast through the second. Only question for me is how long US defence holds out.

Have to laugh, I backed Vargas for first goal and the fucker goes and gets 4 winning me bugger all.

No idea who the other teams are playing, but the argues and Chile are obviously the stand out mobs so far.

Really enjoying this tournament - much more entertaining than the Euros so far.

Argentina's first goal. Sublime pass by Messi. As he approaches 30, he's dropping deeper and becoming a playmaker in the style of Xavi and Iniesta. His vision and passing range should ensure that when he completely loses his pace he should still be able to play into his mid or late 30s.
